Kids Worker (Hunters Hill) "Our growing church in Hunters Hill is looking for an enthusiastic person with a heart for teaching and caring for our kids during Sunday services and outings or activities for our young teens during the year. The Children’s Worker is a new part-time role (1 day a week, including Sunday mornings) to support children in following Jesus. They will liaise with parents where appropriate to benefit the children’s spiritual growth. The role also includes co-ordination of 4 outings during the year. The Children’s Worker will care for children who are already part of our church community and will connect with our SRE teacher where appropriate to reach other children with the gospel. The Children’s Worker reports to the Senior Pastor and will liaise with our Safe Churches Leader to ensure care best care for children and young people attending church. Delivery of teaching, programs and resources will be up to the Children’s Worker liaising with the Senior Pastor. This role ideally would suit a Bible College student who can work 10 hours a week part-time whilst studying or a person with gifting in children's work who is looking for part-time work. About the Placement
Lighthouse congregation is a multi-generational, contemporary, and evangelical congregation of the
Uniting Church located in Geraldton, a lively coastal city 420kms north of Perth, Western Australia.
The congregation is focused on authentic worship, Scripture-focussed preaching, discipleship and
Christ-centred mission (both local and global). Sunday services, attended by approximately one
hundred people weekly, are complemented by active Connect Groups, thriving men’s and women’s
ministry groups, a dynamic youth group, an outreach Taste and See Café and a community playgroup.
This single ministry placement is supported by a capable team of church staff (currently eight, in various part-time roles) as well as an active Church Council, a team of lay preachers, six worship
leaders, and dozens of congregants serving in different roles.
Geraldton is growing rapidly, and opportunities for outreach and ministry growth abound. The
churches of Geraldton work closely together and often in direct partnership for the gospel.
