Hello MA(CS) & GCL students,

I hope the first day of the new semester is off to a great start for you! For those of you who are interested in enroling in an intensive this semester, 5 weeks from now we have 2 intensives running at the Parramatta campus, namely LEA401 (for MACS & GCL students) and CON505 (for MACS students). The intensives will run simultaneously, from 15th - 18th April. I've provided a brief description of each subject below, for those of you who are interested. Enrolment forms can be found on the AC website.

Wish you all the best for Semester 1, 2013!

Lily Arasaratnam, Program Director

CON505 Theory and Practice of Intercultural Communication (Lecturer: Dr. Lily Arasaratnam) : Ranging in topics from understanding different cultural mindsets to conflict negotiation, this dynamic seminar in contemporary intercultural communication is part of the MA(CS) curriculum, but also open to non-AC students as well for professional development. It is particularly ideal for those who are interested in fields such as international business, missions, international relations, and pastoring in culturally diverse environments.

LEA401 Introduction to Leadership: Past and Present (Lecturer: Dr. Ian Jagelman): This subject explores the role of leadership for Christians today. In light of an understanding of theoretical models of leadership, students will have opportunity to reflect both theologically and personally on leadership issues and be introduced to foundational leadership theories. This is a required subject for GCL students, and an elective for MA(CS) students. It is also open for audit for those wishing to pursue professional development.
