Academic Calendar

The Higher Education academic calendar is broken into three study periods. The two standard study periods are Semester 1 Term 1 (March - June) and Semester 2 Term 3 (August – November). Summer School, which is referred to as Semester 2 Term 4, (November – February) is optional and provides a limited range of online subjects.

There are mid-semester breaks during Semester 1 and Semester 2, however, there is no break during Summer School and studies continue through Christmas.

Another key date to be aware of is the census date, which is usually around three weeks after the commencement of the semester. The census date is the deadline for changes to enrolment. If a student seeks to withdraw after the census, they will not be refunded the tuition fees and the subject will show a fail grade on their transcript, unless there are extenuating circumstances.
